OPEN WORKSPACE #2 Jeroen Wismans
De Kapsalon presents, from May 31 2010 the second open workspace. This time with artist Jeroen Wismans.
De Kapsalon met Wismans at a programm of Kunstenaars&Co (a corporation wich helps artists) called “from idea to succes”. Wismans showed his light sculptures made of recycled materials.
Wismans found the Kapsalon, based in the Afrikaanderwijk in Rotterdam South, to be a good spot for his ideas. The idea of an Open Workspace came up during the first meetings with Jeroen Wismans.
But before the Open Workspace de Kapsalon invited Wismans to team up with the other artists for the “Kapsalon Marathon” at the Center of Visual Arts during the Museumnight 2010. During the festival Wismans created “My First Universe” (MFU): a huge moon shaped lamp combined with a big bed and a scale model of the universe.
A few months after the Museumnight it was time to kickstart the next Open Workspace with Wismans. A wide variety of ideas, recycled materials and loads of light will melt together with the old barbershop, wich will put the Kapsalon into a whole diffrent, somewhat extravagant, perspective. Feel free to drop by, ask questions, help the artist out or simply jump into the mind of Wismans.
